Why Vote FOR Parks?
In short, voting for the levy will allow the Wayne County Parks Department to create 5 new parks from generous property donations into parks for all residents to enjoy! These 5 parks will join Barnes Preserve to kickstart a county parks system.

Currently managed by the Western Reserve Land Conservancy, this unique 1816 mill and 15 acre wetland property would become a Wayne County Park! Learn more about Kister Mill at our partner's site.

This beautiful property in Canaan Township stands to be donated to Wayne County Parks in memory of Lovina Parmenter.

Located in Chippewa Township, the Clinton Wetlands would become part of Wayne County Parks with a passage of the levy.

This beautiful park near Dalton will be generously donated to the Wayne County Parks Department with passage of the levy. Learn more about Silver Linden at our partner's site.

Near Rittman, the William J Robertson Nature Preserve and Morton Salt Environmental Education Lab would receive funding and support with a yes vote.

Currently the only county park, Barnes Preserve is funded and maintained by private donations and volunteer labor. A yes vote would provide much needed support.
Currently, Wayne County only has one public park and we are one of only a few counties in the entire State of Ohio to not have a funded parks department. Let's change that together!

Wayne County Parks
The Wayne County Park District has existed since 1991 but has lacked funding to be fully operational. Barnes Preserve was opened in 2016 through donations and the hard work of volunteers. To continue progress and open more parks in the county, a dedicated source of funding is needed.
